Wisematic SOLU™ BC -series provides a modular solution concept for all phases of battery cell handling: storage, balancing, sorting and testing. Our compact and fully customizable module design enables a space saving lay-out to suit any factory floor.
Inbound measurement
The Wisematic SOLU™ BC-series Battery Cell Measurement Unit offers a quick and efficient method for automatically measuring large volumes of incoming battery cells. Depending on the connected diagnostics solution and the specific measurement requirements, the unit can establish reliable electrical contact for the entire matrix of the battery pallet at once, or row by row.
Inbound and outbound sorting
Wisematic SOLU™ BC -sorting cells are high-speed powerhouses for handling battery cells. They can be used for both inbound and outbound sorting. Inbound sorting classifies cells based on preceding IR-measurements, while outbound sorting provides balanced cell batches for manufacturing balanced pack modules.
The performance of Wisematic SOLU™ BC sorting cells is ensured by Epson’s high-performing SCARA robots, with an average cycle time of 1.8 seconds per cell, handling up to 15,000 cells per shift. The SCARA’s large working area can cover up to six separate pallets, and the pallet and conveyor setup can be customized to meet customer and layout preferences.
Balancing and storage modules
The Wisematic SOLU™ BC-series Storage and Balancing modules are fully automated units equipped with a pallet handler and lift. Their modular and configurable design allows for the integration of balancer, storage, or conveyor units. The basic configuration includes a reverse flow conveyor at the bottom of the module, with additional components customizable to meet customer requirements.
The innovative and compact design of the automatic pallet handler saves space and enhances operational efficiency by minimizing travel distances.
System storage is managed by a smart warehouse management system tailored for handling cells with unique statuses. The system-specific user interface enables operators to monitor storage fill levels and the operational status of the system in real time. The module size is fully customizable to fit process needs and available floor space.
